The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for strong surface winds over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema.
These conditions are expected during 28th-29th August for Karnataka and Telangana, and from 28th August to 1st September for Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.

Impact & Risks

The strong winds and squally conditions pose risks to fishermen operating in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Coastal areas in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana may experience disruptions due to high winds. Maritime activities in the affected regions are likely to face challenges, including reduced visibility and hazardous sea conditions. The IMD has emphasised the need for caution, particularly for those navigating or working in the mentioned areas.
